Good morning Creekside Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! As we start another exciting week, I’d like to share some important reminders and updates:

Important Dates & Events:

Our students are gearing up to get ready for the Spring CAASPP testing. CMS students will be completing their first PAW (Patterson Assessment of Writing) in their ELA classes this week. This assessment is required and all students must complete the PAW this week. Let’s ensure we motivate our students to do their very best, get a good night's sleep and remind our students how valuable the PAW assessment is for getting ready for the Spring CAASPP testing.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

With our 1st Quarter complete we are excited to share your students' progress.

Oct. 16. Please join us to review your students progress at either of the available times most convenient for your family.

1:30pm-3:30pm

5:00pm-7:00pm

  • CMS will be participating in the California Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill @ 10:16am- @ CMS we ensure our safety and readiness procedures are practiced monthly and are a focus to keep a safe and secure campus.

  • Oct. 16 & Oct. 17 are both minimum days - student release at 12:16 pm.

  • PHAST Club Red Ribbon Week: Scheduled for Oct. 27–31 – promoting healthy choices and school spirit!

Student Expectations:

  • Students are expected to arrive on campus promptly and be seated and ready to learn by 8:15 am each morning. Punctuality is crucial for learning success.

  • Tardies: Three tardies per class will result in after-school detention or Saturday school if excessive.

Safety & School Culture:
Our all-school assembly last Wednesday highlighted Positivity, Respect, and Kindness. Thanks to our PLUS and ASB students for leading this event and motivating all students to follow school expectations. To keep Creekside a positive and safe learning environment:

  • Please review what your student is bringing to school. Distractive tech, games, earbuds, and other prohibited items are not allowed outside of backpacks and will be confiscated.

  • Items representing gang affiliation—including solid red/blue clothing, belts, shoelaces, hats, necklaces, etc.—are prohibited. Students wearing such items will be asked to change, and parents may be contacted to bring a replacement before the student can rejoin class.

  • Our school district is working with Interquest Detection Canines to help keep our campuses safe. The canine team will make unannounced visits during the school year. These visits will start in October. Most important: This is about keeping everyone safe. The goal is prevention and making sure our schools are safe and welcoming places for all.

At Creekside, we rise together as a community. By showing respect, making positive choices, and following school expectations, we create an environment where every student can succeed, feel safe, and be valued. Let’s continue to spread kindness and positivity in every hallway, classroom, and interaction this week.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students thrive. Together, we can make Creekside Middle School a school where learning, respect, and community excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

Warm regards,
Chris Anderson
Principal, Creekside Middle School
